Can somebody please tell me what happened to Darana, Ecco's father?

I wonder if SEGA & Appaloosa created & developed an Ecco the Dolphin video game in 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, XBOX Series S, XBOX Series X, XBOX One and PlayStation 5. The name is called Ecco & Whittany: Defending Dolphins, where Ecco the Dolphin defends the sea with his partner Whittany White, the female White Dolphin...🤔

I'm making a nostalgia-based game like Sonic Mania but for all of Sega's old franchises and games. What elements from Ecco should I use?

This Ecco prototype shows the universe prologue and the vortex cutscenes right away. It doesn't display a Sega logo or any title screen or copyright information.

The prologue text is mostly the same as in the final version, except that "THOUGHT" is misspelled as "THOUGT". The Vortex Queen falling through the clouds is cut from the final version, but the data for it still remains in the final game's code. The "meteor" cutscene uses different graphics. In this prototype, it shows a background with landmasses, while the final version shows a plain ocean.

I found a dolphin boss in contra: hard corps and it reminded me a lot of Ecco the Dolphin for some reason. That's all.

So I decided to draw this for some Sega fanfiction I have going.

Has anyone heard anything about it in the last ( checks watch) 9 years?

This is one of my absolute favorite games next to Ecco. It came out in the same era of Ecco & there is development of modern reboot in limbo just like Big Blue.

Earthworm Jim! It has a lot less serious tone & I always laugh when playing the game. The wiki is in a similar state of previously this wiki. I would look into adopting it but I have to wait a very long time before requesting it. If anyone is interested then go check it out!
